Peter Jones - St Andrews Revisited

Sproson Gallery is delighted to present Peter Jones’ solo exhibition, titled ‘St Andrews Revisited.’ It coincides with the release of his eponymous art book filled with St Andrews’ architectural staples, including the Old Course Hotel, New Picture House Cinema, Topping bookstore, among others. The buildings featured in the exhibition are deeply intertwined with Jones’ fond memories of St Andrews during his formative years at the university.

Jones' playful manner of line (or ‘wonky’ as the artist puts it), and frequent use of the ‘fisheye' lens became the hallmarks of artist’s signature style. The unusual perspective in combination with a nuanced and warm colour palette create an impression of a memory, evoking a sense of nostalgia.
